EU Universities and other research institutions as guarantor of a knowledge and innovation-based economy
11 oct 2013Campus Mare Nostrum took part in one of the workshops of the 2013 edition of EU Open Days: Bridging the gap: Universities and other research institutions as guarantor of a knowledge and innovation-based economy. The presentations dealt with the role of universities, science and innovation from regional/local perspectives and showcased inspiring local experiences. Campus Mare Nostrum was selected as one of those initiatives. The workshop focused on transferable methods/good practice, avoiding long project, local or institutional descriptions and promotion.
The participating institutions were the following: Nicolas Fazzalari PhD (Scientific Director, Le STUDIUM (R) Loire Valley Institute for Advanced Studies) LE STUDIUM®: a regional agency for bringing together the best scientists from abroad in Région Centre; PhD, Pascual Pérez-Paredes (General Coordinator of the Campus of International Excellence Mare Nostrum): Boosting synergies: the European excellence program. Campus Mare Nostrum as a case study; Eszák-Alföld, PhD Julio Mayol (Scientific director of AMI-4Europe SERMAS, Comunidad de Madrid), Advanced medical imaging: need-based innovation; Valencia REDIT (Technological Centers Network), Head of Projects Area; OPIDI-CV (Regional Office for Enterprises R&D ).
The delegation from Campus Mare Nostrum was headed by Gaspar Ros Berruezo, Vicerrector for research and Internationalization, Universidad de Murcia, and the agenda included intensive networking with research and education stakeholders in the European Commission and other institutions.
