The Master degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology aims to provide a thorough knowledge of contemporary Molecular Biology that will allow students to gain research experience and professional skills, before deciding on a future career in industry or academic research. This Master is principally addressed to graduates in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Food Technology, Medicine, Pharmacy, Nutritional Sciences and Veterinary. Other candidates with special interest in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology fields are welcome. With the Master programme the student will acquire cutting-edge research capabilities in a chosen field of specialization, as well as broad and up-to-date knowledge in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. This will enable the student to enter a PhD programme in any area of the Master, and to grasp career in the biotechnological, agronomical and pharmaceutical industries as well as in public research units and private enterprises in the domain of life sciences.

The Master degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology is awarded for 60 European credits: 24 for the Master research project and 36 for courses. The programme starts in October and runs for 10 months. While the language of instruction will be Spanish, every effort will be made to integrate in the course English-speaking students.

From a multidisciplinary point of view this Master is aimed at giving the students a broad and deep knowledge on the most relevant topics related with the professional and scientific fields of the Biology and Technology of Mammals' Reproduction (including Humans)

The quality of teaching is a major concern which is achieved by the participation of a broad and selected list of university professors and scientists, which do not only include lecturers and professors from the University of Murcia, but also from other universities around the world, as well as from private companies. Besides, the teaching rooms and the laboratories contain modern equipments for a comprehensive teaching in a comfortable ambience with full access to ICT technologies. Most of the teaching sessions happen at the Veterinary Faculty, although students are occasionally called at the Medical Faculty and the Veterinary Farm.

The official Master languages are Spanish and English.

The Master content is organized in 16 formative subjects, 6 compulsory and 10 optional, plus a Practicum and a Master Dissertation. In the formative subjects the hours devoted to theory and practices are well balanced, while the quality of the practices accomplishes the highest standards. The so called Practicum (12 credits ECTS) is commonly carried out in an external center which is selected by the student from a list of academic, scientific or private institutions not only from Spain but from several European and Asian countries.

It is important to highlight that students design their own professional profile according to their preferences and expectations. This is well addressed by the selection of the optional subjects, the place where the Practicum is implemented and the topic of the Master Dissertation

Students are requested to follow a highly demanding rhythm of work. During the winter semester the Timetabl
