Women in Spanish-Arabic Poetry: Conference with authors in the framework of the International Festival of Poetry and Art «Grito de Mujer»
28 mar 2017The University of Murcia and Campus of International Excellence Mare Nostrum was present at the Festival «Grito de Mujer» in its work of equality and internationalisation.
In this third event held at Casa Árabe in Madrid, the book «Almas con piés desnudos» was launched. This book was written by Maram Al-Masri from part of Pilar Garrido Clemente, Doctor of Arabic Philology from the University of Salamanca, general coordinator of the Campus Mare Nostrum and professor at the University of Murcia along with Javier Marín Ceballos, who is the Cultural Technician in the Region of Murcia, editor and translator.
This time the subjet of the 7th International Poetry and Art Grito de Mujer Festival 2017 was «A cry of freedom, in homage to all girls of the world», and it took place during the month of March 2017, with the engagement of poets, artists and institutions such as the Arab-Syrian poet ميسون جميل شقير Maisoun Shukair, Leonor Merino García (Doctor in French Phylology and Magherbi and Arabic Literature specialist from part of the Madrid’s Autonomous University.UAM) and Asunción Mascab Asunción Caballero (Cultural manager, festival coordinator «Grito de Mujer» and author known as Mascab.
The event was closed with a poetry reading session of Asunción Caballero poetry book «Pronombres», Leonor Merino García of his book «El soplo de la vida el polvo de la tierra» and Chelo de la Torre of his recent book «Ángulos». All them are authors and Spanish poets, whose works have been translated into Arabic.
