The Chair on Environment of the Port will join up four grant holders

The Permanent Committee of the Chair on Environment Autoridad Portuaria-Campus Mare Nostrum has agreed to incorporate four grant holders for a six-month period, who will be assigned to the Port’s areas of Safety and Environment. They will be undergraduate or Master’s students.
This is one of the actions that were approved in the last meeting of the Permanent Committee. The launch of a call for priority research projects has also been agreed in the meeting. These will be related to the port area in matters of Red Natura 2000, biodiversity, and responsible management of species and habitats, underwater noise, marine pollution and contaminated soils. Besides, others that may be of interest from the point of view of the Port level of Cartagena will be included.The Chair on Environment –formed by the Port Authority of Cartagena and public universities of the Region of Murcia, through the Campus of International Excellence “Mare Nostrum 37/38”– supports R&D&I, technological and scientific assistance, educational and informational actions in the environmental field.
The Permanent Committee, directed by Javier Bayo, professor at Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT), is formed by Francisto Robledano (deputy director); Bernardo Cascales, from the University of Murcia; Juan José Martínez and Mª Pilar Jiménez, from UPCT.
