03 mar 2015The Campus of International Excellence 'Mare Nostrum 37/38' of the state universities of the Region of Murcia presents a new edition of the Phicaria conferences in Mazarrón.
The Fourth International Conference on Mediterranean Studies will be called 'The Mediterranean ports: contacts, multiculturalism and exchanges. Socio-economic, political and ecological strategies', and will be held from 6th to 8th March at the Universidad Popular de Mazarrón (C/ Entierro de la Sardina, Edificio 3, Mazarrón 30870, Murcia).
The main aims of this fourth edition of the International Conference on Mediterranean Studies are
A) In the sphere of scientific research and dissemination of findings:
To act as a meeting point for researchers of subjects and issues of importance in Mediterranean countries.
To provide updates on the most recent findings in specific areas of knowledge addressed at this edition and to identify appropriate interdisciplinary visions.
To create a forum for reflection and debate on the changes between past and current information.
B) For the various groups involved (EuroMediterranean and Iberian):
To raise awareness of the current and historical importance of the proposed research.
To contribute to establishing a forum for sharing ideas and scientific issues and foster new synergies related to entrepreneurial and innovative ideas among those interested.
The course will be run jointly by professors Sebastián Ramallo and Milagros Ros, both of the University of Murcia.
