Euro-‐Mediterranean Academic Platform on Water Resources Sustainability in Semiarid Areas

Campus Mare Nostrum 37/38 (represented by the Universities of Murcia, Cartagena and CEBAS/CSIC), together with the Euro-‐Mediterranean University (EMUNI) (represented by its President and the University of Haifa, University of Moulay Ismail, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Hacettepe University), L'Institut Méditerranéen de l'eau Marseille (IME) and the Euro-‐Mediterranean Water Institute (IEA) have promoted the Euro-‐Mediterranean Academic Platform on Water Resources Sustainability in Semiarid climate Areas, an academic initiative to discuss, identify and evaluate challenges and interventions in the field of water management and sustainability.
In the first kick-‐off meeting in the city of Murcia, Spain, a steering group drafted a declaration that both underscores the need for such an academic forum and sets up the agenda for the forthcoming actions.
