II UNIMED Mediterranean Student Summit: 20-22 September Tangier (Morocco)

08 May 2023

Dear students enrolled in the University of Murcia,

We inform you of the proposal that has come to us, from the network of Mediterranean Universities UNIMED (https://www.uni-med.net/), to which the University of Murcia belongs from 2019, and that at this time together with the Erasmus Student Network and the University Abdelmalek Essaadi of Morocco launch the II MEDITERRANEAN STUDENT SUMMIT, after the success obtained in Barcelona last year.

It is aimed at students actively involved in our institution, with experiences and stay abroad, and who wish to participate in an international intercultural forum to address issues related to internationalization, university and Erasmus Generation in the Mediterranean.

The event will take place from September 20 to 22 at the Abdelmalek Essaadi University in Tangier.

This initiative aims to strengthen Euro-Mediterranean student university cooperation between UNIMED partners. The conclusions of this forum will be used to prepare a report with proposals for the first Ministerial Conference on Higher Education of the Union for the Mediterranean to be held in Fez in November.

The UNIMED network currently has 150 partner universities from more than 23 countries, and works closely with governments and networks/partners at Euro-Mediterranean level (Union for the Mediterranean, Emuni, Téthys, Unica) with the firm purpose of integrating the two shores of the Mediterranean.

Selection of students:

The University of Murcia will be able to select 2 students based on their motivation, knowledge of international and academic issues, as well as Euro-Mediterranean relations or student commitment to integrate in a working team with other students from partner universities. The working language will be English.

Grants:

Campus Mare Nostrum will provide a grant of up to 500€ for travel and accommodation through its annual call for 'Special Actions for Students'.

Maintenance by the organizers (to be confirmed).

Others:
