III Regional Tourism Exhibition

28 avr. 2017

The III Regional Tourism Exhibition has been organized by the University School of Tourism, the University of Murcia through Campus Mare Nostrum and the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia.  This exhibition was inaugurated the last 17th, April at 18.00 p.m. and the event took place at Avenida de la Libertad in Murcia (pedestrian Street next to El Corte Inglés) and it ended 21st, April.

It gathered the tourist offer of 30 municipalities of Murcia in stands in which all types of information about typical products of each city council were offered.

This exhibition is an exponent of the collaborative relationships that the University of Murcia is carrying out in different areas of daily, cultural, economic an tourist life with the town councils of our Region.

The idea is summarized under a simple identity slogan: “more Region, more Public University”. It is a question of reverting knowledge which is generated in our university centre to the society that sustains us, that is to say, a symbiosis in which we all win.

Thus, The University School of Tourism has organized this exhibition to promote a line of work that has been developing for decades and is based commitment and collaboration with institutions and companies dedicated to the promotion of our Region as a sustainable and quality tourist destination.

The regional tourist offer cannot do without the town councils, since the development of sector must be in accordance with local development. Our municipalities are the basis of our tourism, the heart of the offer. The commitment to the local environment is for the University School of Tourism a firm intent in relation to RIS3Mur objectives of our University, and among which is Tourism and Health.

In this sense, the exhibition’s arrangement in conjunction with the Regional Federation of Municipalities has been an act which transcends something merely academic, to become a rewarding act of mutual aid for both institutions, for our localities and for the development of our Region from the tourist area.
