Campus Mare Nostrum-Port Authority Chair on environment awards ceremony
28 mars 2017The Campus Mare Nostrum- Port authority Chair on environment awards ceremony took place at the Port of Cartagena on 22nd March.
The Interuniversity Chair of Environment, Campus Mare Nostrum (APC-CMN) Port Authority of Cartagena was created to bring together research, transfer, technical support and training activities in environmental matters around the Port of Cartagena.
Some prizes were awarded for the best end-of-degree Project and for the best final master’s dissertation during the academic year 2015-2016.
In this way, undergraduate and masters students from the University of Murcia and The Technical University of Cartagena were chosen to be recognized.
The projects were related to environmental issues of interest to Cartagena’s port area, such as Natura 2000 network, biodiversity, responsable Management of species and habitats, underwater noise and marine pollution, among others.
The awardees were:
- MARÍA VIRTUDES GARCÍA PÉREZ (BEST END-OF-DEGREE PROJECT)
- MARÍA ALCARAZ MARÍN (BEST FINAL MASTER’S DISSERTATION)
The awards ceremony took place on 22nd, March at 11.00 a.m. in the Assembly Hall of the Port Authority headquaters of Cartagena, located in Plaza Heroes de Cavite, s/n.

We would like to make a special mention and publicly congratulate the student María Virtudes of the University of Murcia Faculty of Veterinary. The directors who have made the awarded Project with her are Dr. Juan Antonio Campillo from the Spanish Institute of Oceonography and Diego Romero García, the professor.
The Project is titled «MICRONÚCLEOS Y OTRAS ANORMALIDADES NUCREALES EN HEMOLINFA DE MEJILLÓN SILVESTRE (Mytilus galloprovincialis) EN 10 ESTACIONES DE MUESTREO DE LA COSTA MEDITERRÁNEA».
