Campus Mare Nostrum celebrates the 'Health Day', a sharing of studies on quality of life and health technologies

Like every year since 1950, the WHO celebrates the World Health Day on 7 April. On this occasion, Campus Mare Nostrum organized the workshop “Health Day: CMN network on Quality of Life and Health Technologies”.

The General Director of Scientific Policy, Eduardo Osuna, the Managing Director of Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca, José Vicente Albaladejo, as well as the Vice-rector of Research and Internationalization, Gaspar Ros Berruezo, opened the Workshop with a reference to the need of a cooperative action of all sectors of society to increase visibility and effectiveness and to optimize resources.

In the morning, the workshop gathered the researchers of the CMN network on Health and Quality of Life and other relevant scientists in the field, like the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Murcia, Prof. Joaquín García Estañ, a representative of Cairo University, Prof. Maggie Louis Naguib, the Tunisian Ministry of Health, Prof.. Habiba Ben Romdhane, the University Health Center Hadassah-Hebrew (Jerusalem), Prof. Malena Cohen- Cymberknoh and a representative of the European 7th Framework Programme for research, Mrs. Marta Gómez Quintanilla.

The workshops offered pathways for collaboration and joint research activities involving CMN and the participating institutions and countries.

In the afternoon, the CMN research clusters, each of them integrated by different research groups, participated in an activity aiming at disseminating on-going research works in the field of health and quality of life. Research teams like the Clinical Experimental Neuroscience group, the group for Physical Exercise and Human Performance or the one for Oral Medicine or of Hemathology and Oncology among others, presented their major works and results.

Presently, almost 70 research teams belong to the CMN network on quality of life and health technologies.
