The Introduction to the Marine Litter Issue

The course is based on a methodology focused on the student, and the teacher will facilitate and collaborate in the construction of meaningful learning in this subject.
The facilitators and more than 20 speakers from national and international organizations are going to work on themes related each module with audiovisual presentations. Some of the speakers’ expositions will be conducted via videoconference.
The course consists of 5 half hours of 4 hours on Tuesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (one of them in the morning from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Cartagena Port facilities) and a practical concluding round on a Saturday in the morning.
Location: UPCT-Cartagena Classrooms
Length: 25 hours. Half day weekly starting on 21st February and finishing on 25th March.
Facilitators: Daniel Rolleri- J.D. López Giraldo and 23 experts speakers.
Director: Javier Bayo (Chemical engineering department and environmental department)
Registration fee: 50 Euros. 3 students got a scholarship according to their economic situations.
Objectives:
- Understand the social, economic and environmental dimension of the marine litter in Spain and in the world.
- Study and show examples and concrete actions of companies, initiatives and projects devoted to change.
- Present possibilities for action to contribute to the problem solution.
